Willie Calhoun


Elder Willie Calhoun is the ninth child (of 14 children) born to William and Otheluia Calhoun. Born in Coolidge, Texas, he attended elementary, middle and high school in Coolidge. After graduation in May 1974, Elder Calhoun enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served faithfully for twenty-three years.

Elder Calhoun is married to his wife of 39 years (Patricia) and is the father of seven daughters. Prior to his call to the ministry, Elder Calhoun served as a Deacon (1994-2005).  He accepted his call to the ministry in July 2005. Elder Calhoun was ordained as an Elder in June 2009 by Texas Southwest Jurisdictional Prelate Bishop S.E. Iglehart. He is a proud 2009 graduate of the T.D. Iglehart school of ministry.

Elder Calhoun has served in his local church as chairman of the Trustee board, church administrator, choir member, usher, assistant Sunday school superintendent, brotherhood president, teacher for the Men’s Sunday school class, and YPWW president. On the district level, he serves as San Antonio District A.I.M. Chairman.

Elder Calhoun holds a Bachelor degree in Human Resources Management from Park University and a Master of Arts Degree in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University.

Elder Calhoun answered the call to Pastor in November 2015 and is the founder of Courageous Faith Church of God in Christ located in San Antonio, Texas.
